As City Manager, I utilize a shared leadership model which provides an opportunity for the Mayor and Aldermen to work directly with members of the Senior Administration Team, as well as with me. This results in an integrated and coordinated approach to leading a large and complex organization.

In addition to assisting City Council, our role as a senior administration team is to lead the organization.  We are structured into sections that we refer to as family areas.  They are:

            • Community Services
            • Corporate Services
            • Infrastructure Services
            • Planning and Development

As a senior administration team, we have adopted and promote six pillars to lead the organization.  They are:

  • Trust and Integrity
  • Customer-focused
  • Solutions-oriented
  • Financially Accountable
  • Environmental Responsibility
  • Supportive and Caring

I joined the City of Lethbridge in 1985 as the City’s Finance Director.  Assuming the role of the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Services in 1988, I was  responsible for the overall financial well-being of the City by ensuring the implementation of the financial policies of City Council.  In addition to the finance portfolio, I provided leadership to all corporate services that assist and support the organization as a whole.

I accepted the position of City Manager in July of 2008. My goal is to lead the City of Lethbridge in a way that fosters a culture of public service that earns the trust, respect and confidence of the community.  Whether I am serving the community in my role of City Manager or participating in community activities, I am extremely proud to be a part of making a difference in Lethbridge.
