Prior to obtaining a business license, you must first be approved via a Development Permit to operate your specific type of business at a specific parcel.
Each parcel in the city has a zoning district assigned to it. Within each zoning district are permitted and discretionary uses. A Development Officer will determine if your business is an allowable use in this district.
To make a development application, provide in person:
1. A completed Development Permit Application.
2. A copy of the lease.
3. The square footage of the area being leased.
4. The number of off-street parking stalls being provided.
5. Payment of fees, determined when you apply.
