Canada Day Weekend Service Changes

City Hall & Stafford Centre

City Hall and Stafford Centre are closed on Monday, July 3 in lieu of Canada Day. Both buildings will reopen as usual on Tuesday, July 4th at 8 a.m.
 
 

Animal Shelter

The Lethbridge Animal Shelter will be closed on Saturday, July 1st for Canada Day. The Animal Shelter will be open regular hours on Monday, July 3.

Transit Service

Lethbridge Transit
Lethbridge Transit will be operating on Saturday, July 1 on its Sunday/Holiday Schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Transit Office, including customer service will be closed on July 1 for Canada Day and on Monday, July 3.    

Free Canada Day Shuttle Service between Downtown & Henderson Lake Park
Departures from Downtown to Henderson Lake from Noon to 10 p.m.
Hourly departures from Henderson Lake Park from 12:30 p.m to 12:30 a.m.

Free Canada Day Fireworks Evening Park & Ride Service 
Courtesy of the Lethbridge Canada Day Committee, Lethbridge Transit will be offering free Canada Day Eveninng Park & Ride Shuttle Service between Henderson Lake and select stops in north, south and west Lethbridge.

Evening Park & Ridge Shuttle service to Henderson Lake Park starts at 7 p.m with the last trip leaving Henderson Lake Park at 12:25 a.m. For the complete Canada Day Evening Park & Ride shuttle pickup and drop off locations and schedule, please click here.

 
ACCESS-A-Ride
Booking and customer service will be closed on July 1 for Canada Day. ACCESS-A-Ride will be running using its holiday schedule.

Garbage Collection

  • Residential garbage collection will not be affected by the Canada Day holiday
  • Yard Waste Sites remain open during holidays 
  • The Waste & Recycling Centre is closed on Saturday, July 1 for Canada Day

Nicholas Sheran Pool: Closed          
Stan Siwik Pool: Closed
Henderson Pool: Open holiday hours 1-7 p.m.
Westminster Pool: 11 a.m.-noon Lane Swim, noon-7 p.m. Open Swim
 *In the event of inclement weather on Canada Day, Henderson Pool will be closed, and Stan Siwik and Nicholas Sheran pools will be open 1-5 p.m.
 
Arenas
Saturday, July 1
ATB Centre - Public figure skating 8-9 a.m. and free Public Sesqui Skate 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
All other arenas are closed.
 

Lethbridge Public Library

The Lethbridge Public Library- Main Branch, The Crossings Branch and the Bookmobile will be closed Saturday, July 1. Materials that are due can be returned through the book drops outside the buildings.

Galt Museum & Archives

Join us at Fort Whoop-Up to celebrate Canada's sesquicentennial with tours, wagon rides, music, a mini pow-wow and more!
The Galt Museum will be open Saturday, July 1 from 1-5 p.m.  Celebrate Canada's 150th birthday with music, performances, crafts, games and free popcorn!  Explore our exhibits using a special Canada Day treasure hunt.

Helen Schuler Nature Centre

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre will be open on Saturday, July 1 for Canada Day.             
Volunteers and staff from the Nature Centre will be at the Henderson Lake Canada Day Festival. Please stop by the festivities and say hello!
