The City of Lethbridge has released the Community Outlook Report 2015-2022. The report includes an analysis of Lethbridge from an economic and social perspective to provide insight into the current state of the community along with future projections. It looks at our current state within the context of global, national, provincial and regional settings and is intended to provide a snapshot of how well the City is positioned to continue to prosper through the year 2022 and beyond.
"This report will be used by the City to anticipate the future needs of citizens and plan for services within our community," said Jeff Greene, Director of Planning and Development Services. "It could also be used by the business sector in making business decisions or choosing to relocate to Lethbridge."
The report was compiled by Economic Development Lethbridge and City of Lethbridge Corporate Services, Planning and Development and Community Services.
"The data and information highlighted in this report suggest that Lethbridge continues to benefit from a stable and diverse economy," said Trevor Lewington, CEO of Economic Development Lethbridge. "While economic and social data is often available at a provincial and national level, a document like this helps us gain a deeper understanding of the local indicators and our unique position within the Alberta context."
Data sources included Statistics Canada, the Lethbridge Census, the Conference Board of Canada, major financial institutions, the Province of Alberta, educational institutions, and the City's and Economic Development Lethbridge's own information.
