New parking technology for downtown

How residents pay for parking downtown will be changing in 2017 after City Council gave the go-ahead for a new and enhanced parking system. This upgrade will introduce modern parking technologies, replace aging downtown parking meters and establish consistent parking controls throughout the downtown. Parking rates will not increase with this upgrade.

Community engagement on Capital Improvement Program (CIP)

Council reviewed a new strategy for informing and engaging the community around the upcoming CIP process. The CIP, is a plan that identifies required capital projects and provides a planning schedule and financing plan. All CIP projects are approved City Council. The City of Lethbridge is currently in the process of planning for its next CIP (2018-2027). The engagement plan will include an open house, online feedback options and pop-up displays throughout the community beginning in the spring of 2017.

Henderson Lake Golf Course improvements

Council agreed to provide a letter of support to Henderson Lake Golf Course to aid in their efforts of securing grant funding for clubhouse upgrades. The course will turn 100 in 2017 and plans are in place for several large events during this milestone season.
