Fire Ban

Due to extreme dry conditions in the City of Lethbridge, and throughout the province, the City's fire ban has been expanded to include all open fires within the City of Lethbridge. This includes all backyard fire pits. The ban is in effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

Effective immediately and until further notice a fire ban has been placed on all open fires in the Oldman River valley area.

Excluded are the stoves and fireplaces located at the following:

  • John Martin Recreation Area
  • Rotary Picnic Shelter
  • Elks Community Compound
  • Picnic Shelter at Popson Park
  • Community Fire Pit at Bridgeview RV Resort
  • And any fire pit at a private residential dwelling
