Furnace Replacement Scam

We have received reports of Lethbridge residents who have been contacted recently by people falsely claiming to represent the City of Lethbridge. These individuals are reportedly going door to door asking to check homeowners' furnaces and telling them their furnaces must be replaced if they are past a certain age.

City of Lethbridge staff will only conduct a furnace inspection at the request of a homeowner or licensed installer and only after a furnace installation permit has been obtained from the City. Residents who are concerned that door-to-door salespeople may be misrepresenting themselves are encouraged to contact the Lethbridge Police Service on the complaints line at 403-328-4444.
