After a successful inaugural season, work is underway to prepare Henderson Pool for another summer of family fun. Staff will be on site starting this week to prepare the facility which is scheduled to open to the public Saturday, June 17 at noon. There will be school groups using the pool as well as weekend open swim times through to the end of June with regular hours starting June 30.
The pool has proven to be a popular summer stop featuring waterslides, a climbing wall, diving board, drop slide and the Rotary Spray Park. It is also fully accessible for the community by offering a zero-depth entry pool and accessible change rooms. In addition, mechanical systems and the replacement of circulation equipment has improved water quality and increased efficiency. The ENMAX Centre provides an on-site concession for visitors inside the pool facility.
The doors officially opened to the upgraded Henderson Pool on July 15, 2016. Even with a slightly shortened season, the pool recorded an increase in attendance of nearly 30,000 over 2013 when it was last operating. A total of 58,229 visitors enjoyed the faculty and even larger numbers are expected this coming season.
