Intersection Improvements start August 23

​​​​​​Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers will benefit from a number of intersection improvements getting under way across the city. These projects will begin this week and continue over the next several months. Residents should be aware of possible detours and lane closures.

Squamish Blvd. W & Red Crow Blvd. W (Wednesday, August 23 - 30)

  • Installation of a permanent three-way stop.​
  • For worker and public safety, this will require a full closure of the intersection.
  • Transit routes and traffic will be detoured. Watch for signs.
  • See detour map here​.

Dates of the remaining projects will be determined following the completion of the Squamish and Red Crow intersection.

Mayor Magrath Dr. S & Southgate Blvd. S/40 Ave. S

  • Traffic lights will be installed to improve safety and help the flow of traffic crossing Mayor Magrath Dr. S from Southgate Blvd. S/40 Ave. S.
  • This work will require lane reductions.
  • Please watch for signs and slow down when passing workers.

28 St. N & 14 Ave. N

  • A new pedestrian light will be installed to improve safety.
  • This will not require traffic lane closures but the west pathway will be temporarily closed.
  • Please watch for signs and slow down when passing workers.

6 Ave. S & 10 St. S

  • A new pedestrian light will be installed to improve safety when crossing in front of the Civic track.
  • This work will require lane reductions.
  • Please watch for signs and slow down when passing workers.
