Citizens are invited to participate in Winter Walk Day on February 8th

Lethbridge College, in cooperation with the City of Lethbridge, is encouraging the citizens of Lethbridge to enjoy Winter Walk Day on Wednesday, February 8th.

“With the warm weather we have been having, this is definitely a great opportunity to get active, meet some new people and be a part of a larger initiative,” says Lori Harasem, Recreation and Culture Development Manager with the City of Lethbridge.

Last year over 100,000 Albertans participated and collectively walked over 2.4 million minutes.  Participation is expected to be over 120,000 in 2012.

Participants in Lethbridge can either join in a group walk at Henderson Lake by meeting at 5:45 p.m. in front of Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens, with the walk beginning at 6 p.m., or by walking outside for at least 15 minutes and then visiting www.shapeab.com to log participation.
