PORCUPINES!

Curious about porcupines? These locally found mammal species can easily be seen by many visitors walking in the Lethbridge Nature Reserve and other river valley parks in the fall and winter seasons. However, very few porcupines are actually noticed by the everyday visitor.
This exhibit is designed to help the visitor understand more about this interesting and common forest dwelling creature.
Discover more about local natural history through hands-on activities designed for all ages. Open year round, our interactive exhibit changes every four months.
Exhibit Room Hours (September - June)
Open daily, except Mondays
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Our Exhibit Room is also home to several live animals. We have a gopher snake named Sophie, a tiger salamander named Rosie, and last but not least, we have Peg Leg the crow. Peg Leg has been at the Nature Centre for the past 20 years and in May 2011 she celebrated her 20th Bird Day.
