The Fun Pass is a single swipe card that will be more
convenient and flexible for individuals and families using a variety of City of
Lethbridge facilities. This pass can be loaded with different recreation and
culture activities and will eventually be connected to online services like
swim lesson registration (coming soon!) and pass renewal options.
Currently, the Fun Pass can be loaded with swim and
skate pass purchases as well as registration to programs offered at the Helen
Schuler Nature Centre.
No, this new card, as well as a key fob are included when you purchase a pass or register for a program with one of the participating facilities. This currently includes the City of Lethbridge pools, operated by Recreation Excellence, skating rinks (excluding the ENMAX) and the Helen Schuler Nature Centre.
This new Fun Pass coincides with an upgrade to the
City of Lethbridge’s leisure management software, a new system that will
provide many enhancements including online services such as booking lessons and
purchasing passes that will load onto your card, in the near future.
you are already a swim pass holder, you should have received a letter outlining
the new pass system and fee structure. If you did not receive this letter
please, please talk with pool staff at your next visit. They will help
transition your pass over to the new card and explain the changes. Any
balance remaining on your current pass will transfer over.
Pool fees do need to increase periodically to adjust for operational costs. The introduction of the Fun Pass coincides with a pre-planned fee increase.
Because several pass options have been merged into more streamlined options, the fees have been averaged out to ensure the pools can still collect enough revenue to operate at the same level. This means some pass holders will see a reduction in cost with the new card but we recognize that others may see an increase.
Careful consideration was taken when setting new fees to ensure it would have the least amount of impact on the community while giving more access and convenience for pass holders.
See new fee structure here.
this time, swim lesson registration will remain the same. You can do so by
calling any of the three City pools or by visiting in-person. In the New Year,
this new software upgrade will allow for the much requested option of
registering online. Stay tuned!
You can expect that at your next visit, your current pass will be replaced with a new Fun Pass and any balance remaining on your current pass will transfer over.
skating pass fees will remain the same. View pass
Registion for skating lessons will remain the same. Skating lessons are offered by many different organizations throughout the city and therefore are not connected to your Fun Pass. More information is available here.
The introduction of the Fun Pass provided the opportunity to reevaluate the many pass options that were being offered to Lethbridge residents and streamline the system to best meet the needs of the community. Historically the swim/skate combo had very little uptake and thus was removed from the pass options. The swim/skate combos were discontinued on September 30th, 2017.
If pass fees pose a financial barrier for families or individuals, support may be available through the City of Lethbridge's Recreation and Cultural Fee Assistance Program.
For more information on this program visit http://www.lethbridge.ca/FeeAssistance or contact Lori Harasem at 403-320-4716.
Your Fun Pass holds a barcode that is unique to you,
therefore, each member of your family is required to scan their card upon
entry. This will also help us better identify who is accessing our facilities
and adjust our programming accordingly.
You still have the option to purchase 10 visit passes but they will now be loaded on your Fun Pass card. When you have used up your designated number of visits, you can reload your card.
We welcome any feedback you may have on our new Fun Pass and will continue to adjust the system to best meet the needs of our community. If you have questions, concerns or comments please contact:
