The Communities in Bloom national program promotes involvement and action by citizens of all ages, local government, organizations and businesses. The program strives to improve the tidiness, appearance and visual appeal of Canada’s neighborhoods, parks, open spaces and streets through imaginative use of flowers, plants and trees. This exciting program has been designed to involve the whole community with the challenge of increasing our environmental awareness, while at the same time beautifying our city. The mission statement of Communities in Bloom says it all:
“Communities in Bloom is a Canadian organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community participation and the challenge of national competition.”
