Coal Banks Trail

The Coal Banks Trail is a 2.4m-wide regional pathway linking facilities and parks throughout Lethbridge. It provides a 30km, uninterrupted route from the west side, through the river valley and Henderson Park, to Pavan Park. The trail can be enjoyed by users of all types, including:

  • walkers
  • runners
  • wheelchairs
  • in-line skaters
  • cyclists
  • strollers

Interesting Facts about the Coal Banks Trail...

  • named after the original coal mining town in the valley
  • was built in 1984-87 as part of the Urban Parks Grant
  • west side extension built in 1996
  • used in community events such as the Terry Fox Run and Moonlight Run
