Assessment Notice Changes for Owners of Income Producing Properties
Feb. 08, 2010

Lethbridge, Alberta –Today, Lethbridge City Council approved  the separate mailing schedule for 2010 Assessment Notices and Tax Notices  for approximately 2,100 income producing properties (apartments, offices, retail and industrial).  This change will occur as a result of new Provincial legislation changing the assessment complaint and appeal process throughout  Alberta.

“The 2010 Assessment Notices will be mailed to owners of income producing properties on February 26th.   The 2010 Tax Notice will be mailed as usual in May,” says Assessment and Taxation Manager Stan Dilworth.  “We are asking owners to review their Assessment Notices when they receive them in February or early March and to please contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.”

Owners with questions or concerns can call 403-320-3950. The remaining 35,000 residential property owners will receive a combined Assessment and Taxation Notice in May as usual.  The 2010 taxes for all properties remain due by June 30, to avoid late penalties.
