If Power Trouble Occurs

Call the 24 Hr Electric Trouble Line, (403)320-3940 for power troubles at your home or business, or to report a damaged or burnt out street light.

Some tips to consider in the event of an outage at your home or business:

  1. Turn off appliances and unplug all sensitive electronic equipment. Keep one light switch turned on so you know when the power comes back on.
  2. Think safety - Do not bring your gas or charcoal BBQ indoors. Be careful with candles.
  3. Please call the 24 Hr Electric Trouble Line, (403)320-3940 with your location and a description of the problem.

Food Safety:

30 minute power interruptions should not impact food safety. If the freezer door is left closed, foods can stay frozen for many hours (12 to 48 hours depending on how full the freezer is and what kinds of foods are stored there). Most food will keep in the fridge for 24 hours. Dairy products, however, should be discarded after six hours.
