Access-A-Ride Transit Operators - Casual 10-30 (Closing Date: March 19, 2010 - 4:30 p.m.)
Lethbridge Transit is inviting applications for three (3) casual ACCESS-A-RIDE TRANSIT OPERATORS. Under the general leadership and guidance of Transit Operations, the Access-A-Ride Transit Operator is responsible for the safe, courteous, and reliable transport of persons requiring accessible transportation within the City of Lethbridge. This service is provided in a mature and professional manner to both our customers, as well as other road users. Customer Service is Lethbridge Transit’s top priority.JOB DUTIES:- Provide a high level of customer service to meet the unique demands of our customers.- Must show courtesy and professionalism to other road users.- Be able to reliably follow assigned schedules.- Demonstrate punctuality in reporting for work.- Must be able to work shift work, as required.

Casual Traffic Signal Electrician 10-27 (Closing Date: March 12, 2010 - 4:30 p.m.)

Our Infrastructure Services Department has an opening for a: Casual Traffic Signal Electrician (6 month term)Posting # 10-27 You will be responsible for traffic signal maintenance, construction and installation of loop detectors, traffic signal heads, traffic signal poles and other related traffic control equipment. You will be required to operate a variety of work related tools including a loop cutting saw, electrical testing equipment and a bucket truck. Completion of all or part of the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) courses relative to traffic signal system design, operation, maintenance and inspection is a definite asset.

Senior Conmmunity Planner 10-24 (Closing Date: March 31, 2010 - 4:30 p.m.)

Garbage Truck Driver IV 10-S20 (Closing Date: March 10, 2010 - 4:30 p.m.)
The City of Lethbridge, Public Operations Department, Waste and Recycling Section, is accepting applications for two (2) non-permanent seasonal term Garbage Truck Driver IV positions.This position involves the collection of residential refuse. You will be required to operate a manually loaded 1-ton or 3-ton single-axle garbage truck, a 5-ton tandem axle truck, or an automated garbage truck on a specified route. This involves strenuous physical labour loading and unloading refuse material. You may be required to explain by-laws and policies affecting refuse collection to customers. You will be required to complete simple records related to the work and perform minor routine repairs, as needed. You will perform other related duties as required.

Pesticide Applicator (Licensed) 10-S7 (Closing Date: March 10, 2010 - 4:30 p.m.)
The City of Lethbridge, Public Operations Department, Parks section, is accepting applications for one (1) seasonal term position of Licensed Pesticide Applicator. The licensed pesticide applicator will be primarily responsible for the application of chemicals to maintain the City of Lethbridge tree spraying program and aquatic weed control program. Individuals may also be required to assist with the City’s weed and vegetation program, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Traffic Signals Manager 10-23 (Closing Date: March 26, 2010 - 4:30 p.m.)

The major responsibilities for this position will include overseeing design, installation, operations and maintenance within the following areas: traffic signal control systems including pedestrian controls, illuminated signs and intelligent transportation systems. Responsibilities also include street lighting (budget, design approvals and rehabilitation); developing policies, standards and guidelines for traffic control systems; human resource management; and budget/financial management.

IT Business Solutions Manager 10-14 (Closing Date: March 12, 2010 - 4:30 p.m.)

Reporting to the General Manager, IT, you will work within business units, and with the corporation as a whole, to lead the ongoing integration, support, and promotion of information technology to maintain and enhance the services delivered. Service delivery and IT process improvement is a significant focus of this position, and as such, you will be tasked with the creation, implementation and maintenance of technology service delivery standards to ensure that consistent levels of support and service are being provided, and needs are being met. You will be responsible for the front line support processes for all production technologies, while building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, to ensure the delivery of quality support services. Strong project management skills will assist you in proactively developing and maintaining strategic plans to ensure that the necessary mechanisms are in place to manage present and future customer requirements.
