The Yates Memorial Centre provides the following products & services:
Performance space: The Yates Main Theatre and Sterndale Bennett Theatre are available for rent for performances in periods from as little as three hours to several weeks. A full range of technical support is available for users booking either facility. The Yates Theatre seats 500 people and the Sterndale Bennett Theatre seats 180.
Rehearsal space: Both the Yates Main Theatre and Sterndale Bennett Theatre are available for rehearsals. Though the Sterndale Bennett is an excellent small scale performance space, it was originally designed to be primarily a rehearsal space. Smaller rehearsals, such as read-throughs can be held in the Green Room. In addition, there are additional nooks and crannies such as hallways and foyers which can be utilized when it is necessary to break a large group into smaller rehearsal groups.
Meeting space: The Yates Theatre and Sterndale Bennett Theatre have been used quite successfully for private meetings and public forums. Smaller meetings can be booked into the Green Room or the Upper Mezzanine.
Art Gallery: The Yates Memorial Centre Art Gallery is open to the public without charge. The Gallery complements performances in the Yates Main Theatre as patrons can view the art before and after shows and during intermissions.
Workshop: An 11,743 square foot workshop in the basement of the Sterndale Bennett Theatre is available for rental on its own, or in combination with other facilities, at the Yates Centre.
Off-site rentals: some equipment such as risers, projection screens and lighting and sound is available for off-site rentals. This is offered primarily as a customer service.
Pianos: The Yates boasts a nine-foot Bosendorpher grand piano valued at over $100,000 as well as a Yamaha Grand Piano and several uprights. Piano tuning is available prior to each use.
Technical Design/Consulting: The Head Technician at the Yates Memorial Centre has extensive training and experience in technical theatre, design, and special effects; users are encouraged to meet with the Head Technician prior to bookings to discuss technical needs and how they can be accommodated. All technicians are available to supervise technical activities in the theatre and can be hired to perform additional technical duties as necessary.
Hostessing / Front of House: Fully trained hostessing staff are available for public liaison, ticket taking, security and emergency procedures.
Ticketing: The City of Lethbridge Ticket Centre was opened in September 1995. The Ticket Centre serves the public through telephone and walk-up sales, and offers user groups convenient, accurate and professional ticketing services for a nominal per-ticket surcharge.
Set Up, Strike, and Running Crews: With advance notice, the Yates Memorial Theatre can arrange for crew calls to accommodate any size of production. These requests are payable in cash at the end of each crew call.
