Rotary Picnic Shelter



The new Rotary Picnic Shelter is located in the North Lethbridge Sports Park at 2801 30th Ave North. The building and site are available to the public for special event bookings. 

It includes:

  • A covered seating area for approximately 200 people.
  • Outdoor commercial cooking appliances.
  • Indoor food preparation area.
  • Washroom facilities.
  • Wood burning fireplace.
  • Playgrounds

The Shelter is envisioned to function seven days a week and throughout the year - weather permitting. 

The design includes environmentally sustainable building features where feasible.  

The funding sources towards this project were:

  • The City of Lethbridge: $1,106,000
  • Community Adjustment Fund (Federal Grant Program): $538,000
  • Rotary Club of Lethbridge: $56,000
  • Anonymous Donation: $50,000

The Total Project Budget for the Rotary Picnic Shelter is: $1,750,000.

Additional funding from the following sources was provided for an additional playground:

  • City of Lethbridge: $89,000
  • Women's Soccer Association of Lethbridge: $30,000
  • Southern Alberta Old Timers Football Association: $10,000

The total budget for the additional playground is: $129,000
