Nicholas Sheran Park Shelter and Washrooms (D-18)

Current StatusComplete
TimelineSummer 2016
Location
South Side of Nicholas Sheran Lake

About the Project

The current washroom and picnic shelter are not being used because of the vandalism and ongoing damage to the facilities.  The condition of both facilities has deteriorated and therefore will be replaced.  The new facility will be designed to reduce the amount of vandalism that can occur and increase public use.  The new construction will include updated lighting, increased seating and integrated barrier-free washrooms that will improve the convenience to users of the park and shelter.  These upgrades will allow the facility to increase the current level of service and restore it's function to the level originally intended.

Expenses to repair these facilities have been ongoing. The condition of the picnic shelter has resulted in virtually no public bookings of the facility and falls short of meeting its intended purpose.
