Snow and Ice Control Update

The City of Lethbridge thanks all residents for their patience and understanding as crews worked around the clock over the last several days to keep the City moving through this significant spring snow storm.

Snow routes lifted

Snow routes are no longer active and on-street parking can resume. The City thanks everyone for their cooperation in moving off the snow routes so they can be cleared quickly and safely.

Snow routes can become active any time during the season whenever snow creates unsafe driving conditions, as determined by City Transportation Operations. Residents are encouraged to sign up for app notifications, view the live snow plowing map and provide feedback by visiting Get Involved Lethbridge: Snow Control  or call 311 with inquiries.

School Zone Snow Removal

Starting this evening, crews will be moving to priority 2 snow removal operations, which focuses on school zones. Graders will be working in school zones this evening creating windrows, returning Monday night to haul the snow away.

Parents dropping their children off at school on Monday should be aware of the windrows. This short-term inconvenience is the best approach to get school zones cleared and safe for all in the coming days.

Motorists are asked to plan extra time into their commute and drive with care. Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding as crews work diligently to manage this significant snow event as quickly and as safely as possible.
