Governance Standing Policy Committee


The Governance Standing Policy Committee meets in person as well as offering a hybrid meeting format, by utilizing Microsoft TEAMS, for anyone who needs to attend virtually. 

Public participation is welcome in the form of written or verbal submissions, and may request to attend virtually via Microsoft TEAMS. The Committee may invite external experts to present information on a topic before them. For information on participation, contact cityclerk@lethbridge.ca.

Meetings

Meets monthly, fourth Thursday of the month, or as per the Council Calendar. Meetings may be canceled, or the date/time revised by vote of the Committee or Council. Meetings may be canceled, or the date/time revised by vote of the Committee or Council. Meetings are governed by Bylaw 6250 - Procedure Bylaw

Mandate

The Governance Standing Policy Committee assists Council in fulfilling its responsibilities relating to legislation and governance practices and frameworks by planning, developing, and implementing strategies to ensure the City of Lethbridge functions in an effective and efficient manner to support Council's intentions, directions, and expected outcomes. This includes items emanating from the Committees that report to it.
