Free Community Yoga Lethbridge
South Minister Church upper hall, 1011 4 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0P7
Our registration free walk-in yoga classes lowers barriers to join an exercise group that not only makes regular exercise an enjoyable social activity but also serves to provide a continuous reminder of upkeeping healthy behaviours. This generates community support for lifestyle enhancements that help prevent and treat chronic illnesses. Lifestyle modifications can bring dramatic improvements in conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, kidney disease, cancer and obesity to name a few. Towards this end, we host weekly free yoga classes that bring the community together to exercise and have a discourse on well-being for greater health and happiness.
The three components of yoga taught in our classes are: physical exercises (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayam), and meditation (dhyaan). In addition, we do short presentations on common community health concerns and factors that enhance well-being. The classes are designed for all ages and fitness level. The techniques we use are gentle enough for any person with any body.
The classes are every Wednesday, 5:30 to 6:30 pm at South Minister Church upper hall, 1011 4 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0P7
There are neither any registrations nor fees. Simply walk-in to any of our weekly classes by yourself or with a friend or family member. Please bring a yoga mat or big towel to exercise on.
Our volunteer yoga teachers: Kera Whitten, Corrine Clarice, Meagan Charlton, Georgia Aurelia Kollias, Massielle Moreira, Shonna Lamb, Cj Jans (Charlene Julie), Jessica Trozzo, Nancy Maria, Tara Rudolf, Robin Connolly, Fabiola Petre, and Raj Thapa
