‘Early bird’ gets the prizes in new website contest

Residents are invited to share in the excitement of Helen Schuler Nature Centre's staff and volunteers as they prepare the big move to a new on-line habitat on February 27!

A contest in support of the website launch is giving residents the opportunity to win big with sustainable and nature-centered prizes. The Nature Centre is hosting a free and family-friendly sneak peek event over Family Day long weekend through to reading week for those curious critters looking to learn more about the contest.

'Early Birds' are encouraged to visit the Nature Centre in-person for a variety of fun and interactive activities in anticipation of the new website. The sneak peek event can earn visitors a special Early Bird entry into the contest.

"The Nature Centre's new website provides lots of information to help you make the most of your visit," says Curtis Goodman, Helen Schuler Nature Centre's Resource Development Coordinator. "Before the website launches, in an effort to help residents and visitors learn more about the new website, we are hosting an in-person scavenger hunt in the Nature Reserve starting February 17. This will help share information about the contest while also offering early bird contest entries!"

Inspired by local plants and wildlife, the Helen Schuler Nature Centre contest will be a fun way of getting the new website in front of new audiences. Visitors will be encouraged to keep their eyes open for a set of 'wild characters' as they explore and navigate the new site. A practice version of the scavenger hunt will be set up in an IRL (In Real Life) environment along Nature Quest Trail surround the Nature Centre. This will be a chance for players to get primed for the on-line event starting February 27 at the Nature Centre's new website.

The Early Bird event is the first opportunity residents and visitors will have to discover how the contest works, what's up for grabs and how they can participate. Be sure to follow the Nature Centre's social media channels HelenSchulerNatureCentre or @DiscoverItHere for more details.
