2018 Neighbourhood Street Sweeping Schedule

Street sweeping in residential neighbourhoods starts on Monday, April 23 and continues until completion, typically by late June or early July. To help crews do a thorough cleanup, we need residents to move their vehicles from streets scheduled for cleaning, and we'll notify you in advance several ways:

  • A door hanger will also arrive at your home about a week before sweepers will be in your neighbourhood.
  • The evening before sweepers arrive, "NO PARKING" signs will be posted and reminder cards will be placed on windshields of vehicles parked on the street.

Vehicles still parked on the street the morning after the NO PARKING signs have been placed will be ticketed. The fine is $30 under the City of Lethbridge Traffic Bylaw. On the day that sweeping is scheduled for your street, please park elsewhere between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Street sweeping is subject to weather conditions and will be delayed by rain. Additional information can be found by clicking here, or by calling Public Operations at 403 320 3850 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weekdays (except holidays).

For 2018, neighbourhood street sweeping will begin in west Lethbridge, then move to south Lethbridge and finish in north Lethbridge. Neighbourhood street sweeping is scheduled so that it doesn't conflict with front pick-up garbage collection days.

A second street sweeping crew works Sunday through Thursday evenings responding to complaints. Crews also work in the Industrial Park after 10 p.m. and the downtown area on Sunday nights. In addition, night crews will be sweeping arterial roads in non-residential areas Monday to Friday between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
