The 2018 Property Tax Notices are being mailed to property owners on Thursday, May 24.
Anyone who does not receive a 2018 Tax Notice by May 31 is encouraged to log into MyCity and register their property using the roll number and access code located on their Assessment Notice sent January 5, 2018. Once registered, property owners will be able to reprint their tax notices. Help with registration is available by contacting the Assessment and Taxation office at 403-320-3950, emailing email@example.com, or by visiting the main floor at City Hall from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Taxes are due by June 29, 2018 to avoid late payment penalties. Payments can be mailed by cheque or money order to the City of Lethbridge, 910 - 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 0P6. Please do not send cash by mail.
Cash, cheques, and debit card payments are accepted by cashiers at City Hall on the main floor. Those who have online banking can pay their taxes electronically using the 13-digit roll number located in the top right section of their tax notice. The City of Lethbridge does not accept credit card payments, but tax payers may refer to the back of their tax notices for information on how to use a third-party credit card service provider to make payment for a fee.
Property owners have the option of using our convenient monthly Tax Instalment Prepayment Plan (TIPP), which reduces your tax bill with a 1.25% annual discount credit. Property owners whose 2018 taxes are paid in full can sign up for TIPP by July 20 to be enrolled in the program for their 2019 property taxes. Please visit www.lethbridge.ca/tipp for further information on this program.
