Adding some “Flair” to Lethbridge Airport

Construction at the Lethbridge Airport resumed on September 12 in anticipation of the Flair Airlines' route to Tucson, Arizona (TUS) this winter. Flair, an ultra-low-cost carrier, has partnered with the Lethbridge Airport to trial a weekly Tucson/Lethbridge route starting December 1, 2022.

Passengers flying in and out of Lethbridge Airport terminal during the 16-week trial can expect to see some temporary modifications as both the City and Flair explore the viability of a low-cost carrier in YQL.

Inside the terminal, passengers can expect to see an expanded processing area for the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), as well as a new baggage drop-off and screening area. This work is grant funded through the Regional Air Transportation Initiative.

On the airfield, work continues on multiple pavement projects including runway and taxiway rehabilitation as well as the extension of Taxiway B to enable future development of airside access lots. This work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022.

Ongoing construction is not anticipated to cause interruptions to current air service. Passengers and visitors are asked to be mindful of construction zones and obey all signage at the airport. Thank you for your patience while we make changes to serve Lethbridge and southern Alberta better.
