Business Occupancy Restrictions

When new COVID-19 business restrictions were announced from the Provincial Government yesterday, retail businesses were direct to limit their capacity to 25 per cent, beginning Friday, November 27.

The initial guidelines from the Alberta Government references that capacity must be limited to 25 per cent of the occupancy set under the Alberta Fire Code. This new direction has resulted in many calls to the Lethbridge Fire Department.

We thank all of our dedicated local business owners and operators for being diligent and working hard to comply with these new guidelines. At this time, the local Fire Prevention team is working with the Provincial Government to get more information on how business owners can calculate their occupancy limits ahead of the November 27 deadline.

The City of Lethbridge will communicate any new information to businesses as soon as it is available. Please follow our social media feeds and visit www.lethbridge.ca/covid19 for regular updates.
