Canada Day Holiday Service Changes

Lethbridge 311

The Lethbridge 311 office will be closed on Monday, July 1. Our customer service specialists will return on Tuesday, July 2 at 8 a.m.

We have a 24/7 self-service site available at 311.lethbridge.ca to help with your questions. For urgent issues, a 24-hr trouble line is available at 311.

City Hall & Stafford Centre

City Hall and Stafford Centre are closed on Monday, July 1 for Canada Day. Both buildings will reopen as usual on Tuesday, July 2 at 8 a.m.

Downtown Parking

Parking in the downtown will be free on Monday, July 1. The parking kiosks will not accept money on the holiday Monday and the Way to Park app will only take payment for month parking passes. Regular parking rates will be back in effect on Tuesday, July 2.


Animal Shelter

The Lethbridge Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, July 1 for Canada Day and will be open regular hours on Tuesday, July 2.

Transit Service

Lethbridge Transit

Lethbridge Transit will be operating on Monday, July 1 on its Sunday/Holiday Schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Transit Office, including customer service will be closed on Monday, July 1 and will re-open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2.    

Free Canada Day Park & Ride Shuttle Service to/from Henderson Lake Park
Courtesy of the Lethbridge Canada Day Committee, Lethbridge Transit will be offering free Canada Day Park & Ride Shuttle Service between Henderson Lake and select stops in north, south and west Lethbridge.

Hourly departures from Henderson Lake Park from 6 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. The shuttle stops during the fireworks at 10:40 p.m. - resuming again at 11:30 p.m.

Free Canada Day Fireworks Evening Shuttle Service 
Courtesy of the Lethbridge Canada Day Committee, Lethbridge Transit will be offering free Canada Day Fireworks Evening Shuttle Service between Henderson Lake and downtown Lethbridge.

Hourly departures from Downtown to Henderson Lake from 6:40 p.m. to 10:40 p.m.
Hourly departures from Henderson Lake Park from 6 p.m to 12:20 a.m.

ACCESS-A-Ride

Booking and customer service will be closed on Sunday, July 1 and Monday, July 2 for Canada Day. ACCESS-A-Ride will be running on its holiday schedule.

Garbage Collection

  • Residential garbage collection will not be affected by the Canada Day holiday
  • Yard Waste Sites remain open during holidays 
  • The Waste & Recycling Centre will not be affected by the Canada Day holiday, It will be open as usual Saturday, June 30 & Monday, July 2

Westminster Pool: 11 a.m.-noon Lane Swim, noon-7 p.m. Open Swim. Canada Day Toonie Swim featureing BBQ, games & prizes

Note: If the weather is poor, both Nicholas Sheran and Stan Siwik pools will be open 1-4 p.m. for Open Swim and 4-5 p.m. for Conditioning Swim

Arenas

All arenas will be closed on Canada Day

 

Lethbridge Public Library

The Lethbridge Public Library- Main Branch, The Crossings Branch and the Bookmobile will be closed on Monday, July 1. Materials that are due can be returned through the book drops outside the buildings.

Fort Whoop-Up

Join us at Fort Whoop-Up to celebrate Canada Day with old-time hands-on activities. We will be open from 1–5 pm.

Galt Museum & Archives

The Galt Museum will be open Monday, July 1 from 1–5 pm with an old-fashioned carnival for Canada Day! Join us for games, entertainment and free popcorn!

Helen Schuler Nature Centre

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre will be closed on Canada Day, Monday July 1. Come visit our volunteers and staff at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre's Kids Activity Booth at the Henderson Lake Canada Day Festival from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. We hope to see you at the festivities!
