Canada Day Weekend Service Changes

City Hall & Stafford Centre

City Hall and Stafford Centre are closed on Monday, July 2 in lieu of Canada Day. Both buildings will reopen as usual on Tuesday, July 3 at 8 a.m.
 
 

Animal Shelter

The Lethbridge Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, July 2 in lieu of Canada Day and will be open regular hours on Tuesday, July 3.

Transit Service

Lethbridge Transit
Lethbridge Transit will be operating on Sunday, July 1 and Monday, July 2 on its Sunday/Holiday Schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Transit Office, including customer service will be closed on Monday, July 2 in lieu of Canada Day.    

Free Canada Day Park & Ride Shuttle Service to/from Henderson Lake Park
Courtesy of the Lethbridge Canada Day Committee, Lethbridge Transit will be offering free Canada Day Park & Ride Shuttle Service between Henderson Lake and select stops in north, south and west Lethbridge.

Hourly departures from Henderson Lake Park from 6 p.m to 12:05 a.m.

Free Canada Day Fireworks Evening Shuttle Service 
Courtesy of the Lethbridge Canada Day Committee, Lethbridge Transit will be offering free Canada Day Fireworks Evening Shuttle Service between Henderson Lake and downtown Lethbridge.

Hourly departures from Downtown to Henderson Lake from 6:40 p.m. to 10:40 p.m.
Hourly departures from Henderson Lake Park from 6 p.m to 12:20 a.m.

ACCESS-A-Ride
Booking and customer service will be closed on Sunday, July 1 and Monday, July 2 for Canada Day. ACCESS-A-Ride will be running on its holiday schedule.

Garbage Collection

  • Residential garbage collection will not be affected by the Canada Day holiday
  • Yard Waste Sites remain open during holidays 
  • The Waste & Recycling Centre will not be affected by the Canada Day holiday, It will be open as usual Saturday, June 30 & Monday, July 2

Note: If the weather is poor, both Nicholas Sheran and Stan Siwik pools will be open 1-4 p.m. for Open Swim and 4-5 p.m. for Conditioning Swim
 
Arenas
All arenas will be closed on Canada Day
 

Lethbridge Public Library

The Lethbridge Public Library- Main Branch, The Crossings Branch and the Bookmobile will be open Sunday, July 1 but closed on Monday, July 2. Materials that are due can be returned through the book drops outside the buildings.

Galt Museum & Archives

Join us at Fort Whoop-Up to celebrate Canada Day with tours, wagon rides, music and more!
The Galt Museum will be open Sunday, July 1 from 1-5 p.m. Celebrate Canada Day with music, performances, crafts and free popcorn! Explore our exhibits using a special Canada Day treasure hunt. Enjoy the fun then head down to Fort Whoop-Up for more festivities.

Helen Schuler Nature Centre

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre will be open on Canada Day, Sunday July 1 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Our volunteers and staff will also be at the Henderson Lake Canada Day Festival from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Please stop by the festivities and say hello!
