Investigation complete on Cavendish Farms fire

Lethbridge fire investigators have determined the cause of a fire at Cavendish Farms Friday night was accidental.

On October 12, 2018 at approximately 6:15 p.m. fire crews were dispatched to a fire alarm at Cavendish Farms Potato Processing in the 2700 block of 2A Ave. N. Fire crews arrived shortly after and were met by staff who had safely exited the building. The fire was extinguished approximately three hours later.

Fire investigators attended the scene this morning and determined that the fire started in one of the french fry coating ovens. No injuries were reported.
