Council receives positive 2017 year-end financial report

An unaudited year-end financial report indicates the City of Lethbridge finished 2017 in a positive financial position heading into the final year of the current four-year operating budget. Corporate accounts and business units finished the year with a $3-million surplus (approx. 1.9 per cent of the total operating budget). Notable factors were higher-than-budgeted property tax revenues due to higher-than-expected growth in residential and commercial properties as well as lower-than expected corporate fuel costs.
