City Council announced today that City Manager Craig Dalton is resigning from the City of Lethbridge to pursue another opportunity.
Dalton began work in Lethbridge on May 19, 2020 with one of his first tasks being to lead the City of Lethbridge through a global pandemic and ensuring the continuity of services.
"Mr. Dalton has worked hard and served Lethbridge well for almost two years," says Mayor Blaine Hyggen. "While we continue to navigate Covid-19, Craig has put the building blocks and systems in place for us to continue to forge ahead with a bright future. We thank Craig for his time in Lethbridge and I wish him all the best."
"I was thankful for the opportunity to be a part of a strong leadership team at the City of Lethbridge, and to contribute to the community in a meaningful way," says Dalton.
In the coming days, City Council will be discussing a way forward for hiring a new City Manager. Although Dalton's final day at the City of Lethbridge has not yet been determined, it is anticipated to be in March, allowing time for a transition in leadership. City Council remains committed to their action plan during this time of transition.
