City update related to COVID-19

Following new public health measures announced by the Government of Alberta on Nov. 12, the City's recreation facilities have temporarily modified operations to limit public contact and minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

City arenas

Based on the Government of Alberta's new targeted health measures, all team sports at City arenas have been cancelled until further notice..

  • Group bookings will be permitted on a case by case basis but sticks and pucks are not permitted on the ice. Bookings can be made by calling 403-320-3009 during business hours.
  • Public skating will be permitted but only 25 skaters will be permitted on the ice at one time
    • Additional public skating times may become available. Visit www.lethbridge.ca/publicskating or call the 24 Hour Public Skate Line at 403 320 4971 to find public skating times.
  • Due to the reduction in group bookings, only the following arenas will remain open until team sports resume:
    • ATB Ice Arenas
    • Henderson Ice Centre
    • Logan Boulet Arena
    • ENMAX Centre

Pools Operated by Recreation Excellence

There are no team sports using pools operated by Recreation Excellence. All fitness classes have been cancelled until further notice. All other activities – including swimming lessons, lane swim and public swimming – will continue while following all public health guidelines that are currently in place.
