Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to two separate fires within several hours Thursday night and early Friday morning. Both were on along 13 Street North.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday night, 27 firefighters from five stations responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of 13 Street North. Upon arrival, crews discovered a small fire inside a storage unit located within the building. The fire was quickly brought under control.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Friday morning, firefighters from four stations responded to a structure fire in the rear of the businesses in the 600 block of 13 Street North. Upon arrival, crews found a fire in an electrical distribution shed which supplies the businesses with power. Normal operations for them may be affected today.
No injuries were reported at either fire. Damage estimates are not yet available and both fires are under investigation.
