With warmer than usual temperatures in southern Alberta, those looking to cool off with a dip at Henderson Pool won't have to wait much longer. The facility will open earlier than usual with modify hours.
The pool will open its doors on Monday, June 4 with school group bookings during the day and open swim from 4 – 7 p.m. weekdays and 12 – 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The hours will extend to the regular summer schedule from June 29 – September 3, open to the public from 12 – 8 p.m. 7 days per week. On statutory holidays, the pool will be open 1 – 7 p.m.
Henderson Pool has proven to be a popular summer stop featuring waterslides, a climbing wall, diving board, drop slide and the Rotary Spray Park. It is also fully accessible for the community by offering a zero-depth entry pool and accessible change rooms. The ENMAX Centre provides an on-site concession for visitors inside the pool facility.
The facility had a record year in 2017 welcoming 86,813 visitors up from 30,279 in 2013 when it last operated for a full season. When the pool re-opened in 2016, 58,229 people enjoyed the new and improved pool during a shortened first season.
Henderson Pool is owned by the City of Lethbridge and operated by Recreation Excellence. Admission fees are consistent with other City owned pools.
