In order to manage the large amount of snow and to maintain clear access to Chinook Regional Hospital, the City of Lethbridge is providing notice of a Temporary Parking Ban along a designated Emergency Snow Route.
It will take effect Saturday, March 14 at 7 a.m. to facilitate plowing along 10 Avenue South between Scenic Drive South and Mayor Magrath Drive South. During the Temporary Parking Ban residents are asked to park in another location for 72 hours so that crews can plow the snow to the parking lanes or boulevard.
This is the only Emergency Snow Route we are activating at this time.
To find out if you live on an Emergency Snow Route, visit www.lethbridge.ca/snowroutes. Residents can also look for the snow route sign along their street.
This Temporary Parking Ban is necessary to ensure residents, emergency vehicles, school buses and public transit buses are able to get to the hospital during the extreme winter conditions we are experiencing.
While this parking ban is in effect, residents who live along this Emergency Snow Route are asked to park their vehicles off street in another location until the ban is lifted so that snow can be plowed to the side of the road.
More information on the City's Snow and Ice Control program is available online at: www.lethbridge.ca/WinterRoads.
