New Twist on Environment Week - June 1-7

​Each year, the City of Lethbridge marks Environment Week with events and activities to promote waste reduction within the community. Given the COVID-19 public health orders in place, the 2020 Environment Week, June 1-7 will be celebrated online, educating and encouraging residents to preserve and protect the environment.

COVID-19 has given us more time at home this spring so why not start a backyard composter! Did you know, nearly half of all the garbage we throw away in Lethbridge could be turned into compost?

The City of Lethbridge sells backyard composters and composting accessories to get you started. Get more information here: 

Condo Composting – Wednesday, June 3
Interested in composting but don't have a backyard? Join us on June 3 at 3 p.m. for a virtual workshop on indoor composting. The workshop hosted in partnership with Environment Lethbridge and is free to join. You'll even be entered to win an indoor vermi-composting system!

Grass Cycling
This year, celebrate Environment Week by being kind to your clippings. Leaving your grass clippings on your lawn saves time and money, reduces waste and helps your grass stay healthy.
