Waste and Recycling Centre free Saturday program suspended

In order to limit the number of people visiting the Waste and Recycling Centre (landfill) the City of Lethbridge is suspending the free Saturday drop off program until further notice.

Because of a large number of visitors that come to the Waste and Recycling Centre during this time, the suspension of the free Saturday program was deemed necessary. This will ensure the community is adhering to the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines as directed by the Government of Alberta. At this time, the site will be closed to the public on Saturdays.

This is a temporary measure put in place to protect the health of both residents and the staff operating the Waste and Recycling Centre.

The Waste and Recycling Centre remains open to the public Mon-Fri but residents are asked to only visit the site if absolutely necessary. If you must come to the Waste and Recycling Centre, remember to practice the appropriate physical distancing, leaving at least two metres between yourself and others.
