Thanks to hot summer weather, Recreation Excellence and the City of Lethbridge will be extending the Henderson Pool operating season into mid-September.
The pool, which was originally scheduled to close after Labour Day, has been a popular destination over the summer. To help accommodate demand, plans have been developed to operate the pool with modified hours after the Labour Day long weekend.
The pool will end regular operating hours of noon – 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, and will be open holiday hours of 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Labour Day, Monday, September 4.
From September 5-17, Henderson Pool will be open 4 p.m. to sunset from Monday through Thursday, and 12 noon to sunset on Fridays and weekends. This will be weather dependent and closing times will change as the days get shorter.
The City of Lethbridge and pool operator Recreation Excellence have worked together to develop an operations and staffing plan that will support the extended Henderson Pool operations this year. The extended hours will allow families and individuals to enjoy the facility after school and weekends to beat the summer heat that has kept the pool busy the whole summer.
