Curbing COVID is in your hands

As we continue to see high numbers of COVID-19 cases across Alberta and here at home in Lethbridge, residents are reminded of the important steps they can take to help prevent transmission.

Curbing the spread of COVID-19 is in your hands.

  1. Hand wash and sanitize
  2. Hands off! Maintain physical distancing
  3. Wear a handy mask

As Dr. Hinshaw has recently stated, a significant number of outbreak-linked cases in Alberta are from social gatherings. In fact, 15 percent of outbreaks are from such events and 1/3 of people infected in outbreaks contracted the virus while socializing or celebrating.

New restrictions were recently put in place in Calgary and Edmonton limiting cohorts to no more than three. This is a voluntary public health measure to stop the rapid rise of COVID-19 in the City of Calgary and the Edmonton Zone. Here in Lethbridge, we can be proactive by considering similar measures.
