Construction is on schedule for the city's newest regional park in north Lethbridge and it is expected to open to the public in July.
Although some of the structures in Legacy Park are complete, including the outdoor challenge obstacle course and the skateboard park, these features remain closed until the major construction is finished around the rest of the park.
Once Legacy Park is open to the public, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of features including:
- Lethbridge's first outdoor challenge obstacle course
- Skateboard park (designed in partnership with the Lethbridge Skateboard Association)
- Basketball, pickleball and tennis courts
- Playground and fitness equipment area
- 4 kilometres of pathway
The City is working with several community partners to host a series of clinics and workshops over the summer months to teach park visitors how to use different park features. As workshops are confirmed, the schedule will be updated at www.lethbridge.ca/LegacyPark.
After the park is open, visitors will be asked to stay on paved or gravel pathways this summer and fall and keep pets leashed to help the grass grow and get established. Construction will be ongoing over the summer months and visitors are asked to avoid designated construction areas.
