Starting Monday June 17, crews will begin lining sanitary sewer pipes in the Victoria Park neighbourhood east of Gyro Park. This is the first phase of lining work in this area and crews are expected to wrap up by June 28.
Residents and businesses affected by the lining have been notified about the upcoming sewer service interruption.
Motorists should expect traffic disruptions in this area and are asked to drive with caution, follow detours, and slow down around work crews.
The City of Lethbridge is repairing aging sewer lines with Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP), a cost effective alternative to sewer line replacement. CIPP is a lining solution that eliminates the need to dig up roads, making it much less disruptive for residents and commuters. CIPP also has the benefit of reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional trenching.
