Starting Monday September 16, crews will begin lining sanitary sewer pipes in the Victoria Park neighbourhood around Gyro Park. This work is expected to wrap up on Friday September 20.
Residents and businesses that will be affected have been notified by letter of upcoming sewer service interruption, and will be notified 24 hours in advance by the contractor. Motorists are advised to expect traffic disruptions while work is occurring and are asked to drive with caution, follow detours, and slow down around workers.
The City of Lethbridge is repairing aging sewer lines with Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP), a cost effective alternative to sewer line replacement. CIPP is a lining solution that eliminates the need to dig up roads, making it much less disruptive for residents and commuters. CIPP also has the benefit of reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional trenching.
