We are pleased to announce that the new roundabout is now open at the intersection of Whoop-Up Drive and Métis Trail.
In conjunction with the opening of this roundabout, Métis Trail is reopening between Whoop-Up Drive and Coalbanks Link West, and new sections of Whoop-Up Drive are open to traffic between Métis Trail and 30 Street West. This work is part of the larger Whoop-Up Drive twinning construction project as well as the construction of Métis Trail.
Motorists will navigate this roundabout in the same way as the roundabout at the Garry Drive West-Squamish Boulevard West intersection. For information on using roundabouts, visit: www.lethbridge.ca/roundabouts.
Construction is expected to be complete by late September on the second stage of Métis Trail, which will connect to the new roundabout and extend north, providing a direct link between Whoop-Up Drive and Garry Drive West. Meanwhile, construction continues on the twinning of Whoop-Up Drive between Jerry Potts Boulevard West/McMaster Boulevard West and Métis Trail.
