Starting Tuesday, April 23, a new three-way stop is being added to the intersection of Rocky Mountain Blvd. W. and Mt. Burke Blvd. W. to enhance traffic flow and improve safety for pedestrians and motorists.
This intersection has been identified for a three-way stop based on analysis of the current pedestrian and vehicular traffic. A three-way stop will provide a more controlled, safer intersection for pedestrians and children accessing Gerald B. Probe Elementary School. All approaching vehicles will be required to stop at the intersection before proceeding rather than only yielding to pedestrians at the existing marked crosswalk.
The intersection of Rocky Mountain Blvd. W., Mt. Rundle Blvd. W. and Mt. Blakiston Rd. W. will also be converting from a yield sign to a stop sign to address traffic congestion and improve sight lines for vehicles turning on to Rocky Mountain Blvd. W.
Signage is posted around the intersection to give motorists advance notice of the three-way stop change.
