Interested in running for elected office in the upcoming Municipal Election? Remember that Nomination Day is Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 between 10 a.m. and Noon. Nominations will be accepted for the offices of Mayor, Councillor, and Public and Separate School Trustee.
All individuals who intend to run in the 2017 Election must submit their nomination forms to the Office of the City Clerk, 2nd Floor City Hall, during the hours noted above.
In accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act, nominations cannot be filed in advance, by fax or email, or be accepted prior to 10 a.m. or after Noon on Sept. 18. Nomination forms must be submitted with at least five (5) signatures from eligible voters and must contain the full name and address of the candidate as well as the office for which they are running.
An unofficial list of candidates will be available after Noon on Sept. 18 at www.lethbridge.ca/election. Candidates have 24 hours to withdraw their nominations. The nomination list will become official at Noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017.
