Crews respond to residential fire in North Lethbridge

​Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a residential fire in the 700 block of 12A Street N at approximately 11:45 a.m. today.

Three stations responded to the home and quick extinguished the flames coming from the front of the house. Fire investigators discovered the origin of the fire under the front deck and were able to determine the cause of the fire to be accidental from improperly disposed of smoking material.

There were no injuries reported and the total damages are estimated at $100,000.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind residents that when extinguishing smoking materials, ensure it is always disposed of properly, in a non-combustible container filled with sand or water.
