As planning begins on the preliminary design of Scenic Drive North and Township Road 94 (62 Ave N), City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge County residents are invited to a community conversation.
Thursday, May 10, 2018
5:00 – 7:30 p.m.
St. Teresa of Calcutta School (Gym) 235 Mildred Dobbs Blvd. North
This drop-in event will help participants become familiar with the project, the design process and background information. Opportunities will be available to learn more about access, safety, and long-term construction schedules. Participants can also provide input on design options being considered. This feedback will be used to help guide future development.
Scenic Drive North is an important arterial road connecting the downtown to the north Lethbridge as well as connecting the city to the future North South Trade Corridor (NSTC) via 43 Street North. The existing area structure plans have identified significant residential and commercial development potential north of 26 Avenue North which will have substantial impact on traffic volumes in the area.
Current developments such as Blackwolf and Legacy Ridge residential neighbourhoods, Legacy Park and future developments within the Royal View Area Structure Plan and the Sherring Industrial Area Structure Plan will also influence the design development of this project.
In addition to new developments, this section of the future Scenic Drive falls within the existing alignment of Township Road 94 (62 Ave N) in Lethbridge County.
