The next time residents look to book swim lessons at any City of Lethbridge pool, they will have the added option of doing so online with the introduction of online leisure services. Additional options like booking recreation facilities and purchasing skate passes will be added online in the coming months.
"We're really excited to bring online services to our residents," says Jason Freund, Recreation Services Manager for the City of Lethbridge. "It's something we know the community has wanted and it will make leisure services more accessible and convenient."
The first swim lesson registration will begin on August 22 at 9:00 a.m. for fall classes at Stan Siwik and Nicholas Sheran Pools. Prior to that, residents wanting to book online swim lessons, should visit www.lethbridge.ca/swimlessons to create an account and add their family members. This will ensure they are ready to go when registration beings.
As always, swim lesson registration can also be done by phone or in person at any City of Lethbridge pool.
The City recently upgraded its leisure management software to accommodate the addition of online services. Anyone already in the City's leisure services database will be notified of the new options via email along with instructions on how to set up their account.
"This is a big change to how we do business," says Brad Pack, General Manager of Recreation Excellence, the operator of City pools. "We know it will take some getting used to and we'll have kinks to iron out but in the long run, it's going to be a much easier system for everyone."
